Pictures of the Great Wall on a rainy afternoon with autumn colors, late October. One of the phenomenal wonders of the world, The Great Wall of China is listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO . It dates back more than 2,000 years. This is a portion of the Mind Great Wall which is 6.8 miles long. Called Jinshanling (金山岭), it is a section in the mountains of Luanping County, some 125 km northwest of Beijing. Construction of theJinshanling section began in 1570 CE. It has 67 towers and 2 beacon towers. Former President Clinton and his family visited this portion of the wall in 1998. Initial portions of this section have are restored.although the wall's condition deteriorates as it approaches Simatai. The natural state of the overall wall is in deteriation, with some sections built of sandstone are in jeopardy of being fully destroyed by erosion within decades.
