Colorful domes atop the Pokrovsky Cathedral (St. Basil's Cathedral - Храм Васи́лия Блаже́нного) on Red Square - Красная площадь - in Moscow - Москва, Россия - built 1555-61 by the architects Barma and Postnik Yakovievin, the blue and white dome from the provincial Russian city of Tambov and the gold domed Christ the Savior Cathedral (Khram Khrista Spasitelya) along the Moscow river, built as a monument to Russia's victory over Napoleon in the nineteenth century.
