Monument Valley, Arizona and Utah
Glacier National Park, Montana
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Yosemite National Park, California
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Various pictures of the Grand Canyon, all taken from the South Rim. Colors vary by time of day and vantage point. Given the season and vantage point, you may have the canyon "all to yourself" with no other human for miles. A wonderful place for meditation. The canyon cuts through many layers of earth's history. A new theory holds that the canyon began being cut some 70-million years ago. It is said to have been carved into Mesozoic-age rocks, but these are now completely stripped away. The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Death Valley National Park and Mojave Desert National Monument, California
Circle of Fire and Red Rock Canyon State Parks, Nevada
Philadelphia, Independence Hall
Independence Hall, location of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. Liberty Bell. The cheesesteak sandwich is very popular in Phialdelphia and has earned a worldwide reputation.
